Mr Olympia 2011 Finals

Branch is out of Mr Olympia 2011

Arnold Classic Champion Branch Warren suffered a leg injury in Atlanta, Georgia.

Branch Warren will be in attendance at the 2011 Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas, but, unfortunately, he'll have a different view of the stage. Warren was in Atlanta over the weekend for an appearance. He slipped on wet pavement while stepping into his car. He heard a "tear" emerge from his left leg, and he was rushed to an Atlanta hospital.

Doctors at Baylor Hospital, in Texas, confirmed Warren's worst fear yesterday when they diagnosed his leg injury as a torn quadriceps tendon. The Texas resident will undergo surgery Monday morning, August 22, 2011, and is expected to recover fully in time to return to the stage in 2012.

Branch is a relentless warrior and bounced back from injury on two previous occasions. He suffered both a biceps and a triceps tear in years past. Each time he came back bigger and stronger. Both of the previously injured body parts now possess larger dimensions than the uninjured sides.

Warren was heavily-favored to challenge Jay Cutler for the 2011 Mr. Olympia title. The competition will be held in Las Vegas September 16-17. He will now focus on a full recovery and the birth of his first child, expected later in the year.

Fans of branch are devastated by the news, but we wish Branch a speedy and full recovery.

If branch had attend the competition he can be placed as MrOlympia or in top 3 contender

The Side Effects Of Anabolic Steroids

The disruption of the natural hormone state in men can produce the following side effects:

Accelerated male-pattern baldness
Decreased sex drive
Reduced sperm counts
Breast development
Testicle shrinking

While men may experience feminization, women may experience a masculinization with side effects including:

Clitoris enlargement
Menstrual cycle changes
Deepened voice
Breast reduction
Male-pattern baldness
Facial hair

Both sexes put themselves at increased risk for:

Skin disease (acne and cysts) -
Cardiovascular disease (strokes and heart attacks)
Liver disease (cysts and cancer)
Psychological effects (from depression to aggression)

The above shouldn't be considered a complete list of the potential side effects of steroids, but rather a partial listing of some of the more common risks

Banned Anabolic Steroids

Anabolic steroids are banned by all major sports bodies including the Olympics, the NBA, the NHL, and the NFL. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) maintains an extensive list of all banned performance-enhancing substances. Some include the following:

Oral Steroids

Anadrol (oxymetholone)
Oxandrin (oxandrolone)
Dianabol (methandrostenolone)
Winstrol (stanozolol)

Injectable Steroids

Deca-Durabolin (nandrolone decanoate)
Durabolin (nandrolone phenpropionate)
Depo-Testosterone (testosterone cypionate)
Equipoise (boldenone undecylenate)

Steroids Facts

The risks involved in body building supplements are often confused with supplements that are medically approved and those types of supplements that poses some form of health risk because a person seek a faster and more effective way to build larger muscle.

Some bodybuilders use anabolic steroids and it may be true that it is effective in building bigger impressive muscles much quicker, the negative effects of these kinds of supplements are outweighing the positive results by far and in some instances with severe and irreversible consequences. On top of it all, making use of anabolic steroids is illegal.

Anabolic steroids, technically known as anabolic-androgen steroids (AAS) or colloquially simply as "steroids" or "'roids", are drugs which mimic the effects of the male sex hormones: testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. They increase protein synthesis within cells, which results in the buildup of cellular tissue (anabolism), especially in muscles

The Risks and Dangers in Bodybuilding Supplements

Regardless if anabolic steroids are used or abused, the health risk implicated is seriously not worth it. It is common knowledge that steroids significantly reduce a man’s sperm count, cause shrinkage of the testicles, trigger hair loss, and affects the vocal cords. Females using anabolic steroids know that they will have deal with sudden facial hair growth, reduced breasts, and likely a more masculine voice.

However, yet these side effects might not be as scary, but few people know that regardless if you use anabolic steroids moderately or abuse it completely, there are other health implications that are much more severe than those that are commonly known. The use of anabolic steroids lead to the forming of cancerous tumors, damages the liver, hardens arteries, causes heart diseases, enlargement of the heart, skin problems such as acne, interference with the central nervous system and causing aggressive and even violent behavior.
