Branch Warren

Branch "The Texas Titan" Warren was born February 28, 1975 in Tyler, Texas. He got his start in bodybuilding early when he took to the stage in 1992 – still a highschool freshman – winning the AAU Teenage Mr. America competition. It was apparent, even in the beginning, that he was willing to do whatever it took to build a better physique. Day after day he would sneak into the neighborhood gym through the back door because he couldn’t afford a membership. After getting his first taste of success at such a young age, his love for the sport of bodybuilding only grew. With the right combination of determination and great genetics he entered his first National Physique Committee (NPC) event, the NPC Teenage Nationals, where he won again.

It was Branch’s early success that built the muscular foundation that helped launch him into the pro ranks in 2001 by winning the National Bodybuilding & Fitness Championships, earning him his Pro card. But it was 2004 that catapulted his already-promising career to new heights when he made his pro debut at the Night of Champions placing 8th, and taking the bodybuilding world by storm. In 2006, he competed in his first Arnold Classic, almost winning the competition by taking 2nd place!

Today, Branch Warren is one of bodybuilding’s top pros. This Texas Titan continues to push his world-class physique to new heights. The words “thick,” “grainy” and “vascular” all describe the larger-than-life structure that has become Branch Warren – earning him respect from fans and competitors alike. And, this year, the 2008 Arnold Classic proved to be another pivotal contest for Branch’s pro career as he earned himself his second Most Muscular award amidst a heavily muscled pro line-up.

From those humble early beginnings to turning pro, Branch Warren shows no sign of letting up anytime soon. In fact, Branch says, “To become a great professional bodybuilder, you need to be dedicated, consistent and have the drive to want to compete. No matter what comes your way, you’ve got to be able to push past it and persevere. It’s all about reaching your goals.”
Warren first competed in 1992 when he won the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Teenage Mr. America competition. His first National Physique Committee (NPC) event was the Teenage Nationals, where he won again. His first IFBB event was at the 2004 Night of Champions competitions, where he placed 8th. His first Mr. Olympia was in 2005, where he placed 8th. The following year, in 2006, he competed in his first Arnold Classic for a 2nd place finish. While slipping to 7th place in 2007, he improved to 4th place in 2008 and 3rd in 2009, while winning the title of "Most Muscular". Warren placed 12th in his 2nd Mr. Olympia contest in 2006. Warren also placed 1st at the 2007 New York Pro.

After not competing in the Olympia in 2007 and 2008, Warren returned to shock the bodybuilding world by placing 2nd at the 2009 Olympia, one spot ahead of 2008 Olympia winner Dexter Jackson, and losing only to three time winner Jay Cutler.
Warren has featured in many bodybuilding magazine articles, as well as appearing on the magazine cover of Muscular Development. He endorses MuscleTech supplements. He currently lives in Keller, Texas with his wife Trish Warren, and often trains at MetroFlex Gym in Arlington, Texas.
