The 2011 Arnold Classic will be a memorable one in the Warren household. Not only did Branch take home the winning trophy from Columbus, Ohio, but his wife Trish placed third in a highly competitive Fitness International. Hopefully the power couple brought some empty suitcases with them from Texas to carry back all of the new hardware.

Also included in that was another Most Muscular Award for Warren and he brought a package to the stage that was his best. Not only did he look hard and dry, but Warren was proportioned from his traps to his calves.

Dennis Wolf continued his amazing upward trend by placing second and appeared even tighter than he did at last year’s Olympia. A mild surprise with third place came when Victor Martinez (a past winner of the Arnold but who has been slightly off the past few years due to injury and personal tragedy) heard Evan Centopani’s name called out for fourth place. The youngster from Connecticut appeared headed for the top three at pre-judging but the Dominican Dominator did come in sharp.

Another former winner in Ohio placed fifth, as Dexter Jackson’s smaller physique was symmetrical enough to keep him in the top six. Ronny Rockel rounded out the group and looked impressive, as usual. He probably deserved better, but no one can deny the German’s physique – diminutive or not.

Johnnie Jackson came in looking better than he has in a while and placed seventh, the spot that Roelly Winklaar (eighth) found himself in last March. Toney Freeman and Ben Pakulski also made the top 10

*Warner also won the most muscular title

BIOGRAPHY

I began training at the age of 15, but had been interested in doing so at a younger age. I remember idolizing my uncles' huge biceps and ability to bounce out push-ups when I was as young as 8. When I began training, my dad always told glory stories of his youth and his tremendous leg and shoulder strength. Who doesn't want to emulate dad! So it began from there.

One of my earliest gym memories is of an older gentlemen explaining the art of the squat to me. His words shaped my approach to training….. "son, the body is an amazing structure, and as with any structure is must begin from the ground first! Build a strong base with your legs, and the rest will follow!" I first found myself getting faster for sports. I became a better overall football player, my speed increased for baseball and I began to blow away many of my counterparts on the hockey rink.

After training for two years I was ready to allow my dad to come to the gym to watch me squat. He had been bugging for awhile after seeing me add muscle and boast of my strength gains(come on, who doesn’t brag to impress their parents!). At this point I was 17, a religious member of "Macks Gym" in Toronto, and eager to learn the sport of bodybuilding. I squatted well that day, 4 plates, 405lbs for 3 sets of 8. I weighed 175lbs at the time. Dad was impressed, and took me that weekend to sign up with the guy known as Canadas bodybuilding coach at the time, Scott Abel.

4 years with Scott saw me go from 175lb kid with little abs and a little muscle to a 250lb 20 year old with abs. He taught me to be diligent with my training and log books, and NEVER miss meals!

My idol and mentor, the late Tom Hall(IFBB Pro, never defeated) was the most influential to my bodybuilding career. Tommy taught me wrong from right inside the gym and out. Tom took the time to teach me the correct biomechanical way to do every exercise, showed me how to eat like a bodybuilder and why. He also got me my first Muscletech contract at the age of 18(they liked the calves too!). Tom passed away 3 weeks after my first ever show on Oct 1, 2005. He never got to see me compete, he had some family things to attend to that weekend. My second show, 3 weeks after he passed, was to be the first time he saw me compete. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I did that show, and every show for the rest of my career in that great mans honor.

Toney Freeman's nickname is the X Man because his body characterises the X-frame of classical bodybuilding: broad shoulders, narrow waist, and flaring thighs. He featured on the cover and pages of FLEX Magazine, Muscular Development, and Robert Kennedy's Musclemag.

Freeman did not become a competitive bodybuilder professional until his late 30s because for many years it was a hobby and the sport was dominated by his idols Lee Haney, Dorian Yates. It took him many years to fill out his large frame and he was mentored by Dave Palumbo to become a professional. Freeman's first (National Physique Committee (NPC)) competition was in 1993, where he won the heavyweight class of the NPC Junior Nationals. His first IFBB event was the Night of Champions competition, where he placed 11th. His first Arnold Classic was in 2005, where he placed 10th. His first Ironman Pro Invitational was in 2006, where he placed 7th. His first Mr. Olympia appearance was in 2006, where he placed 7th. In 2007 he won the Ironman Pro, Sacramento Pro and placed 3rd at the Arnold Classic. He made the top 5 at the 2008 Mr.Olympia

Biography

Ronny Rockel was born and raised in Germany. Like many other professional bodybuilders from Europe such as Milos Sarcev and Pavol Jablonicky, Rockel grew up under communist rule. Because of this Rockel was not aware of bodybuilding and other things of the outside world. This soon changed in 1989 when the Berlin Wall was taken down. At seventeen years of age, 143 pounds decided that he wanted a body like Arnold Schwarzenegger's after seeing the film Conan the Barbarian, but at the time commercial gyms in his hometown of Chemnitz, East Germany, were non existent. Instead of abandoning his interest in bodybuilding, he created his own weight set. Following the demise of communism, entrepreneurial activities in the East of Germany spawned and with that the first gym opened in Ronny's hometown. He soon joined and began absorbing information about diet and weight training from other members and fitness magazines. At his first competition, the Hessian Championships, he placed last in his class. But he did not became discouraged, he came back a year later and won the 1995 NABBA German Nationals and placed third at the NABBA Mr. Universe. From then Rockel decided that he had the potential to become a professional bodybuilder. It was not until 2002 that Ronny Rockel achieved professional status by winning the International German Championships. After this victory he won a contract with a nutritional company and relocated with his girlfriend to Venice, California for some time while competing.
